Cctv news(Reporter Wang Jiazhu) On September 27th, an interview group from the online media "Running for a Well-off Society on the Long March" came to Fuxian County, Yan ‘an to lay flowers for the martyrs who died in the battle in Zhiluo Town.

In October 1935, the Central Red Army joined forces with the Red Army in northern Shaanxi, which caused great anxiety to Chiang Kai-shek. He ordered the Northeast Army to carry out a third "encirclement and suppression" of the Red Army in northern Shaanxi with five divisions, so as to wipe out the area north of the Zucchini River to the west of Luohe while the Red Army was not firmly established. In the struggle against "encirclement and suppression", the central leadership found that Zhiluo Town was a good place to lure the enemy into depth and fight a annihilation war because it was surrounded by mountains and waters, and decided to confirm the battlefield in Zhiluo Town and fight a beautiful annihilation war.

The victory of Zhiluo Town declared the defeat of Chiang Kai-shek’s third "encirclement and suppression" campaign, and it was also a groundbreaking ceremony for the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to put the national revolutionary base camp in the northwest.

In the battle of Zhiluo Town, a rare scene happened in the revolutionary history of China, that is, Mao Zedong went to the front line to command, and Zhou Enlai, then vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, and then Peng Dehuai, Lin Biao, Luo Ronghuan, Nie Rongzhen, Ye Jianying and 21 founding generals, including Hai-dong Xu, Lo Jui-ching and Chen Geng, participated in the battle, which staged a rare scene in the history of Chinese revolution.

There was also a heartbreaking scene in this battle: 12 underage Red Army soldiers were captured for spying on the enemy, and all of them were finally killed.

These 12 little martyrs belong to a little communist battalion of the Red 25th Army, most of them are twelve or three years old. Because of their miserable family, their relatives have been separated and joined the Red Army. On the eve of the battle, they sneaked into the enemy Heishui Temple to spy on the enemy. After the reconnaissance, they were captured by the enemy on their way back. The Kuomintang troops escorted them to Zhiluo Town and locked them in a house in the oil mill compound. During their detention, they were brave and tenacious, preferring death to surrender. They were brutally killed before the besieged Kuomintang troops retreated.

Now, in the corner of the battle martyrs’ cemetery in Zhiluo Town, the "Twelve Little Martyrs Monument in Zhiluo Town Battle" silently accuses the history of grief and indignation.
