The DPRK-ROK negotiations are deadlocked! North Korea pays attention to both economy and military or launches artificial satellites.
CCTV News:According to South Korea’s YTN TV station, South Korea’s National Institute of Justice said in a report to the Congressional Intelligence Committee that the vehicle and equipment activities in the North Korean West Sea satellite launch site have increased recently.
The Xihai Satellite Launch Site, located in Dongcangli, North Pyongan Province, is as famous as Yongbyon Nuclear Facility, and is an important place for nuclear and missile activities in North Korea.
In April 2012, North Korea launched the "Bright Star -3" satellite here. In 2017, North Korea also conducted an intercontinental ballistic missile engine test here.

According to Yonhap News Agency, after a series of summits between the DPRK and the United States and between the DPRK and the ROK, Kim Jong-un, the top leader of the DPRK, promised to dismantle the satellite launch site in the West Sea. However, after the collapse of the Hanoi summit in February this year, North Korea began to repair the West Sea satellite launch site. There is only one month left before the negotiation time limit proposed by North Korea, and there are signs of increased activities at the launch site.
Some Korean media analysts believe that under the circumstance that the DPRK-US negotiations have not made progress, North Korea has taken pressure to make the United States change its attitude.
Korean media are worried that if the pressure is not effective, North Korea may launch a similar satellite to further strengthen the pressure.
At the same time, North Korea stressed that in order to realize its strategic vision, it is necessary to develop more sophisticated weapons.

According to Korean media statistics, since the beginning of this year, North Korea has developed four kinds of modern weapons, including the super-large multi-barrel rocket launcher that was tested on November 28. Korean media believes that this weapon has successfully achieved continuous shooting and has entered the final stage of the test.
South Korean public opinion believes that North Korea’s strategic vision is to achieve "economic self-reliance and modernization of military weapons", and both hands should be grasped.
